The tundra climate spreads to Greenland, Alaska, and North Russia. Latitude rounds up around to 75 degrees N to 60 degrees N. Climates start near the coastal areas of the Arctic. These are found in interior continents. The arctic oceans or any ocean near keeps the climates from falling to extreme temperatures. Precipitation totals from 6-10 in. a year, including the melted snow. Canada is a whole tundra biome. The average climates in the summer are from 45-50 degrees F (7.2-10 Degrees C for those Canadian peeps.) The summer only lasts about 6-10 weeks, no more, no less. The following season after, is fall/winter, the climates during those time periods are never more than 20 degrees F (-6.6 C) and usually around -20 F to -30 F (-28.8 C to -34.4 C).

When hunting, if they hear a prey they pound the snow till it breaks and grabs the prey if underground. When they can't find food they eat an animals leftovers such as an polar bears carcass.

The LEEDLEING Musk ox. They have a thick, long, and shaggy coat. They're often found in groups of 10-20 near river valleys, damp meadows, and lake shores. Their horns act as a helmet to protect themselves from other predators.

Collard Lemmings are seen on rocky terrain , and their fur changes to white during the winter . They only weigh up to about 90 grams and grow up to about 15 cm. in length . ( Like Waaa? )

arctic poppy ( Ayee PAPI ! )- is a rare plant that only grows in harsh arctic conditions. this flower can grow up to 25 cm. high . this amazing plant turns its face towards the sun to attract insects .

Bearberries -( hee hee, bear ) grows from 2-8 inches from the ground . it is usually found in dry non-nutrient soil. their leathery leaves help them keep warm in the cold .

Purple Saxifrage's are an edible, low growing plant, that surfaces 3-5 cm. off the ground with small woody branches growing close to the surface. ( sounds like sassy , huh ? )

First of all, you should appreciate the Tundra biome because without it you can't ski, snowboard, have eskimos, and have all the beautiful creatures. like this website because , it took us forever to do this ! but seriously , the tundra has a lot to offer , such as beautiful plants and animals that can survive harsh weathers .
